Novita Capital co-founded, project managed and invested in Veragua Rainforest, a research and adventure park aimed at becoming the best rainforest attraction in the Caribbean.


The firm raised over $7 million for the project with a creative combination of common and preferred equity from prominent local investors and financing from BCT, a local bank, as well as the renowned Conservation International and The Nature Conservancy.


To strengthen the project's efforts in education, scientific research, and sustainability, a one-of-a-kind cooperation agreement was established with the National Institute of Biodiversity (INBio), for the design and interpretation of the park's nature exhibitions and operation of the research center.


The park was inaugurated by President Arias in July 2008. Veragua is a favorite among local and international tourists, and all major cruise lines serving the Caribbean routes.
